The Turing Alarm Clock

Feb 27, 2008

We all know how easy it is to turn off an alarm clock. For one, I have already learned to find the snooze button on my cellphone even when I am half-asleep. Even if I set the alarm at a certain time, I would only turn off the alarm and stand up after 30 minutes. I know it is practically useless. At least, it also wakes up the other people in the house. πŸ˜›

Imagine my surprise when someone invented an alarm clock that challenges you to prove that you’re awake. How? With arithmetic. I present the Turing alarm clock.

The inventor is even willing to share his invention to anyone who is crazy enough to copy it. Neat. Now I just have to find an electronics geek who is willing to make me one. πŸ™‚
